 Plastics are not conductive materials and can become electrostatically charged. Electrostatic discharge may therefore occur when emptying plastic packaging. This does not normally pose a problem – however, certain applications require ESD (ElectroStatic Dissipation) protection, as dust, gas or vapour explosions may otherwise occur or packaged electronic components may become damaged.  The new development from Bischof + Klein – flexible packaging for liquids! With its specially developed recipe, this PE film offers ideal functionality, particularly for drinking water, as it does not impair the water's sensory properties. However, the packaging is also ideally suited to other liquids such as e.g. cooking oil, juices, tomato purée or liquid egg. The film can be printed in up to 8 colours using flexographic printing. The PE film can be ideally processed to manufacture flat bags or open mouth side gusseted bags on fully-automated form, fill & seal systems. The bag can additionally be equipped with a carrying handle to guarantee simple handling."

Hazardous material packaging

Do you require packaging which is approved for transporting hazardous materials? B+K is home to the "hazardous materials test department", an independent institution recognised by the Federal Institute of Material Research and Testing in Berlin and the Netherlands' TNO. This institution is authorised to test packaging coded 5M, 5H and 5L up to a gross weight of 50 kg and to approve its registration. B+K is not therefore merely an experienced manufacturer of hazardous material packaging, but can also carry out all necessary registration tests in-house and thereby provide customers with a complete service package.

Our food safety management system guarantees compliance with consumer law, ie all legal requirements on the basis of the framework regulation 1935/2004/EC, in particular regarding a possible transfer of ingredients from the packaging into a food. In addition, the majority of our raw materials used for articles intended to come into contact with food comply with FDA regulations.
The GMP management at B + K is an important component of quality management in the QM documentation. Food contact materials in the GMP system come under the GMP regulation 2023/2006/EC.
